WWE News: Huge Championship Match Confirmed For Smackdown Live 1

Following last week’s jam-packed edition of Smackdown Live, it looks like we will get yet another one on Tuesday Night. We have witnessed three separate title matches on this past week whereas WWE has now confirmed yet another title match will take place on ‘land of opportunity’ in the upcoming edition.

AJ Styles has recently reinstated the United States Championship Open Challenge following his win at the Summerslam PPV. Being a true champion, he wishes to keep his title on the line, every single week against any of the opponents from Smackdown Live. Last week, he gave a chance to the young Tye Dillinger after being impressed by his efforts against Baron Corbin.

The latter one was not happy with this decision since he did not get the title opportunity even after getting the win. So, he went right after The Champion once the match was concluded. Previously, Styles was able to defend himself from Corbin’s attack but this time, he could not. As a result, he ate an End of Days on the ringside floor.

Following the altercation, we heard Corbin yelling at Styles saying that next week, he will be the one to answer the US Open challenge on Smackdown Live. Obviously, this was not the official announcement of the match despite these two being involved in a feud from Summerslam onwards.

But, now we have officially received an update which stated that the match is indeed going down on this upcoming Tuesday Night. AJ Styles will issue the challenge which will be accepted by Baron Corbin to have their first match in this feud. On the official Twitter handle of the WWE, Cathy Kelley gave us the confirmation. So, this is going to be the main event of the night, supposedly.

Now, it is unlikely that The Lone Wolf will be able to beat the Phenomenal One in his first chance at the US title. This is going to be a stretched feud, and these two are supposed to lock horns over the title at Hell in a Cell, again. Plus, as reported earlier, Corbin is suffering from a backstage heat that caused him the Money in the Bank briefcase. That is far from over, and the officials are not going hand over him the US title, this early.
