Huge Gauntlet Match Hosted On WWE Raw Set Records

To hype up the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV, a huge main event was confirmed on last night’s WWE Raw. For the first time, seven men will be competing inside the demonic cage structure. So, to add more fuel to the historical setup, a gauntlet match was announced featuring all the superstars in this match.

The names included John Cena, Roman Reigns, Elias, Braun Strowman, The Miz, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. This handed them away, a chance to build up the momentums in their favor before heading into the match that is coming up with huge implications added to it. The main event of Wrestlemania will be waiting for the winner.

Moreover, a gauntlet match is quite rare in the WWE programming which did not occur on the flagship show in recent times. So, the anticipation was quite high from the match. It started with the good old feeling as Roman Reigns squared off against Seth Rollins. The crowd broke into burning IT DOWN chants aligning with Rollins.

It was good to see The Architect finally toppling down The Big Dog with a simple roll-up. As Reigns looked forward to hitting the spear, his Shield brethren put his shoulder down to the mat to get the clean win as the crowd was shocked in awe. The next match was even better between Rollins and John Cena.

It was a fantastic affair with both the men trying to hit the finishing moves to put away his opponent. At one point, Cena was caught by his own pendant move of AA, by Rollins but he kicked out of that as the crowd marked out. Later, the crowd enjoyed The Architect hitting the Curb Stomp on Cena to get another pinfall win.

Rollins was almost out, after spending so much time in the ring and hence digested the pinfall loss to Elias. The mayhem continued with Finn Balor elimination Elias, and then The Miz took advantage of the presence of the Miztourage at the ringside. He defeated Balor only to face the wrath of Strowman who squashed him with a powerslam to the much delight of the crowd.

The monster among men stood tall to end the match which was the longest running contest in the history of the show. It continued for almost 100 minutes of the show, overall with Rollins remaining in it for over 65 minutes which is yet another mind-blowing statistics in favor of Rollins.
