Tonight marks the second last episode of Smackdown Live prior to the Hell in a Cell PPV event. We have had two official matches inside the steel structure from Raw and Smackdown. Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman from the red brand. On the other hand, Randy Orton will try to settle the score forever with Jeff Hardy from the blue brand.
These two should be pretty much grueling Hell in a Cell match on September 16th. Meanwhile, the storyline updates are suggesting that Smackdown Live might confirm another such match for the PPV event on tonight’s edition. Two women will fight it out for the women’s championship inside the unforgiving cage.
Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch are having a bitter rivalry over on Smackdown Live since Summerslam. The latter one has turned heel on her former bestie eyeing the championship. This has automatically set up the chance of a future title match at the upcoming event. Charlotte has already confirmed to give Becky Lynch a shot for the title. Meanwhile, the chances are high that it will take place under a special capacity.
Cagesideseats.com has reported that Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will have a championship match inside Hell in a Cell structure. Smackdown general manager might confirm it on tonight’s episode of the show which takes place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Adding the demonic steel structure into the mix will change the entire complexion of the contest.
This will be the second-only Hell in a Cell match from the women’s division in the history of WWE. Previously, Charlotte and Sasha Banks locked horns in the inaugural matchup, two years ago. Charlotte won that historic matchup. She is also the favorite one to win the second one too against Becky Lynch retaining the Smackdown women’s title.
The Queen has just won the championship from Carmella at Summerslam. She is the strongest performer on the current women’s roster. Dropping the title in quick times could certainly harm her image to a big extent. Rather extending the rivalry against Becky Lynch would be a better idea. These two should continue to fight each other even at the Evolution PPV, too.
