WWE News: Huge Intercontinental Championship Match Confirmed for No Mercy PPV 1

In the midst of a historical No Mercy PPV on this Sunday, the only championship’s fate that was not addressed was the Intercontinental Championship.

So, last night’s WWE Raw kicked off to address the matter. Kurt Angle’s speech was interrupted by the champion, The Miz who was out to interrupt the WWE Raw GM complaining about not defending the title for two consecutive PPVs.

So, Kurt Angle came up with a solution by declaring a fatal-4-way match to determine the new number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. He announced the four names competing in the match would be Matt and Jeff Hardy, Elias and Jason Jordan. The Miz was not happy with Jordan being in the match, who has not done anything to earn the opportunity.

So, he went to take shots at Angle for being an unsuccessful and biased father. This led Jordan to the ring to shut him up. It ensured a brawl between them. Following it, the match was converted into a six-pack challenge. As per The Miz’s demand, his protégés, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel were also inserted into the contest.

The huge match was contested in the main event of WWE Raw where we saw a physical brawl. The Hardy Boyz were on the verge to take the upper hand, but Jordan came out of nowhere by hitting a neck-breaker on Curtis Axel and pin him to become the new contender for The Miz’ title. It happened despite the champion’s conspiracy against Angle’s son.

So, he was irate and went straight to attack Jordan in the finishing segment on the show. The rivalry between The Miz and Jason Jordan was on the horizon, and now that the latter one picked up some momentum following Summerslam, he will be getting a title match at No Mercy against the Hollywood A-lister. WWE.com confirmed the match on their website:

“At WWE No Mercy, Jason Jordan will have the opportunity to silence The Miz, who has accused Jordan of receiving favouritism from his father, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, and take The A-Lister’s coveted Intercontinental Title all at the same time. Don’t miss a moment of the action when The Miz clashes with Jason Jordan at WWE No Mercy, this Sunday at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.”
