WWE will air the 16th annual Tribute to the Troops event on 20th December. It is the most patriotic show of the year where the superstars pay tribute to the military. Superstars in the WWE pay tribute to the men and women who are in service to protect the United States of America. This year, the show takes place at the Fort Hood, Texas.
Now we should let you know that this is not a live event. Rather it is a taped show that will air on the USA Network at 8 PM ET on the aforementioned date. The tapings of the show have already been over as the military persons witnessed some huge main event matches. It featured inter-brand contests featuring Raw and Smackdown superstars.
As per the reports of wrestlingINC.com, two babyfaces from both the brands teamed up against two heels. It was Dean Ambrose and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan taking on against AJ Styles and WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins. This is a dream tag team match considering Seth Rollins and AJ Styles shared the ring, at the same time.
There were multiple women’s division tag team matches at Tribute to the Troops. Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka vs. Natalya and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey was the lineup from WWE Raw. From Smackdown Live, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville competed against Charlotte Flair and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. The Riott Squad was reportedly present at the capacity. We are yet to know about their involvement in the show.
The matches took place inside of Hangar 7007 with troops surrounding the ring. Another good news for the fans is that we might get to see Roman Reigns at Tribute to the Troops airing. He was in attendance for the show being the franchise player of the WWE. We might get to hear a special message from him to the military servicemen. Braun Strowman was also present at the taping.
