WWE News: Huge NXT Championship Match Announced For NXT Takeover Philadelphia
Leaving Survivor Series behind, WWE is gearing up for the Royal Rumble PPV to kick things off for 2018 Wrestlemania season. Only Smackdown Live will have another stop on December 17th in the form of Clash of Champions PPV whereas the other two brands, Raw and Smackdown will start building up the storylines for the first dual-brand event in 2018.
As of now, the NXT General Manager, William Regal has come up with a huge announcement for the next title match stored for the reigning champion, Cien Almas. The GM confirmed that due to the injury suffered by Drew McIntyre, he would not be able to claim his due rematch for the title.
In case you don’t know, the former NXT Champion suffered a bicep injury while competing in the NXT Takeover: WarGames title match against Cien Almas. It was the same night where the latter one won the championship to become the first-ever Latin-born NXT Champion in the history of the WWE. So, as for now, he will be looking forward to getting a new opponent.
