WWE News: Huge Planning for Smackdown Women’s Championship 1

For the entire post-Wrestlemania season, the Smackdown Women’s division was run by Naomi. She won the title back at the biggest show of them all in her hometown of Orlando, Florida.

Following the win, she had a dominant run with the title until she suffered a backstage heat just before the Summerslam PPV.

It was then when the creative team decided to keep the title off from her. So, she had a match against Natalya at the Summerslam PPV to come up losing. Not only she lost the match but also lost it badly without the needed resistance. It might have confirmed the backstage heat.

The feud between Natalya and Naomi was over in the Sin City edition of Smackdown Live. After that, Charlotte Flair got involved into the picture by winning a fatal-four-way number one contender’s match. She returned to the show after a hiatus of more than a month and went straight to get inserted into the title picture.

It earned her the rights to challenge Natalya for the title at the Hell in a Cell PPV. It will be the very first-time that she will compete in a PPV Championship match since coming to the blue brand, last April. On that night, she will have the chance to be the first woman to hold Raw, Smackdown and NXT Women Championships.

Apparently, the chances of Charlotte winning the Smackdown women’s title is pretty high. As reported by dirtysheets.net, The Queen is all set to reclaim her throne at the top of the WWE food chain. It will ensure her a match against Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania 34.

It is that one match which is up on the rumor mill for a long time, now. It might come to fruition, finally with the title being held by Charlotte on the blue brand.

The previous planning was to keep Naomi the champion for the rest of the year so that the glowing championship belt could be put on sale. The producers of the same, Mattel Inc., wanted a time of 10 months to get those delivered after which the plan got scrapped, and Nattie became the new champion. The chances are high that she loses it at Hell in a Cell PPV.
