Alexa Bliss is one of the prime female superstars of the WWE Raw roster. Starting from 2017, she carried the women’s division on her back until Ronda Rousey arrived on the scene. This made her a five-time women’s champion in combined. She had three runs on the red brand whereas two runs on the Smackdown brand.
WWE always treated her as a special performer cum trusted shoulder. It handed several records to her name like the first woman to hold the Raw and Smackdown women’s champion. For the last two years, Alexa Bliss is the only one to walk into Wrestlemania with two separate championships. She was at the top of her game when an injury occurred.
This turned out to be quite a fatal issue going forward. The trouble started from Hell in a Cell onwards where she had a failed attempt to regain the women’s championship from Ronda Rousey. It was the last match of Alexa Bliss on TV. WWE sidelined her from in-ring competition to save her for the all-women Evolution PPV.
Unfortunately, she could not participate in that revolutionary show as her hands started to lose feeling. This is the same symptom that forced superstars like Edge and Paige to go into retirement. A similar situation occurred with Alexa Bliss as WWE decided to bring her back in a house show for experimentation.
This made her injury even worse. Till date, she has not been able to recover from that. However, she gave some great news to her worldwide fans. The Goddess was in attendance at the Phoenix Ace Comic-Con and came up with a positive update on her career. If her words are any indications then she is coming back sooner.
Here’re the words from Alexa Bliss,
“Uh, well…I plan on coming back pretty soon. WWE is very careful when it comes to us with concussions and any injury. We have the best of the best taking care of us, and you have to go through concussion protocol. I’ve been doing really well. I’ve been training at the performance center, so there’s definitely hope for me getting back in the ring relatively soon.”
The good part is that Alexa Bliss has returned to the Performance Center gearing up for in-ring action. WWE is keeping her under observation and will not clear her until and unless she is 100 percent fit. They could not afford to keep her away from TV though and used in a managerial capacity. For now, the expectations are that we will see her performing at Royal Rumble.
