We were glad to learn a positive update on Jeff Hardy before Smackdown Live. Two weeks ago, he suffered a brutal attack from Randy Orton. The former world champion returned from an injury at the Extreme Rules PPV event. To surprise the fans, he turned on against the former US champion and became a villain.
We could barely expect such a heel turn from one of the biggest villainous personas in WWE history. He delivered attacks on Jeff Hardy for two consecutive nights. It was one of the most sadistic forms of the Viper we have ever seen. The potential update said that Hardy might miss Summerslam.
However, WWE.com confirmed Jeff Hardy was coming back on last night’s Smackdown.
It confirmed that we would see him perform at the biggest event of the summer. Plus, he was all set to have a confrontation with Randy Orton following those vicious attacks.
We wondered how things would go down between these two when they finally come face to face. Jeff Hardy received a thunderous ovation from the crowd of Tampa. He addressed the attack of Orton and mentioned losing the United States Championship. It feels like he lost a part of his body.
He needs to regain it as early as possible. But he also needs to beat the hell out of Randy Orton. The latter one made his way down to the ring. While he was making his way down to the ring, Shinsuke Nakamura showed up behind Jeff Hardy. An assault began, as Orton joined him inside the ring.
Nakamura looked concerned over the Apex Predator’s presence by his side. But Orton insisted him to go on with the attack. Nakamura finished off Hardy with a Kinshasa and left the ring. Orton then continued ripping apart Hardy. He delivered a DDT off the middle rope and sent Hardy’s body outside the ring.
Orton threw Jeff Hardy over the announce table just like two weeks ago. After that, he put water on the face of the former US Champion and washed all of the face-paints. The attack continued on Smackdown, as Orton planted Hardy with his pendant DDT off the announce desk. The officials ran out to stop the ambush which finally stopped Orton.
