WWE News: Jeff Hardy Reveals If He Will Return To Get A Match Against Undertaker
Dec 7, 2016 at 4:54 PM
As of right now, the popular high-flying Jeff Hardy is under contract with TNA wrestling promotion. So, there’s no point of talking a Wrestlemania match between him and the Undertaker. But, he talked quite a few times about his desire to feature in a match against Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell. This fuelled up the rumors of him coming back into the WWE.
Plus, we have to keep in mind that both the Hardy Boys’ contract with TNA is set to expire in February 2017. With TNA’s financial status being unstable, the speculations of both the Hardy Boys returning to WWE is still running strong.
So, we just can’t count him out just yet since WWE wants to store some twists every year with the Phenom’s opponent. Recently, Jeff Hardy appeared in an interview with the Sports Illustrated where he opened up about his currents status and getting the dream match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
“Wrestling ‘Taker is still a dream match I would love to make happen—though I don’t know how his health is or if he’ll ever return to ‘Mania—and I was stuck on that for the longest time. Now I’m open to the idea of being a part of something new rather than something old. The stuff Matt and I are doing is so creative and fun, and I want to continue this journey for as long as I can—and make TNA the best company it possibly can be.”
As you can see above, he was clearly concerned about Taker’s health and age at this point. He was further asked about his status in TNA and he offered the following
“People always ask Matt and I if we’ll ever go back to WWE, but we are having such a good time with this creative liberty in TNA. We’re able to do what we want to do. The show is built around us, and that’s something that makes me really proud.”
It’s a fact that both Matt and Jeff Hardy have been the main event attraction in the TNA franchise. They are the major names there and will continue to be so in the future, as well. So, unless some big planning happens around them, they are not likely to jump ships to WWE.
