It was earlier reported that one-half of the charismatic former tag team champions, Jeff Hardy had suffered a shoulder injury during one episode of WWE Raw. It was the pre-No Mercy episode where a six pack challenge was held to determine the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship.
The Charismatic Enigma was part of the match and had his right shoulder bumped into the mat in a nasty way that caused him a tear on the spot. Being a veteran performer, he was able to finish the contest with ease. He even pulled off his high-flying moves including the Swanton Bomb but cracked the shoulder on that point.
Later, WWE.com confirmed that Jeff Hardy is suffering from a busted shoulder and will not be able to compete, going forward. They also informed that surgery is required to fix the wound which will sideline him for an indefinite span.
The latest updates from the official website of the WWE now suggested that the surgery was done successfully on Tuesday night. He was suffering from a torn shoulder rotator cuff which was fixed during this procedure. Following the process, Jeff Hardy gave the below comments to WWE.com,
“It’s depressing. More than any time in a career, it’s those times that make you go, ‘Wow, I love professional wrestling.’ It sucks that I can’t be involved in [a] match or can’t get in there and do what I normally do because I’m injured, but I just have to get over that, stop worrying about it and look forward and push myself to get repaired and healed and come back better than ever with a brand-new shoulder.”
What’s interesting in this situation is that WWE Universe might get to see him regularly on WWE TV in a different capacity. We have heard him saying for a couple of times that he there are ideas in the WWE Creative team which might allow him to accompany his brother, every single night despite the suffered injury.
It certainly brought out the possibility of the debut of The Broken gimmick on Raw as hinted on WWE.com
“However, as the road to recovery looms, Hardy would not rule out the possibility that the WWE Universe would see him on TV in a different capacity while he heals.”
“There’s a lot of crazy ideas,” said Hardy. “It inspires me to think a lot more about what I can do other than the extreme stunts and still be entertaining.”
