Ever since the matchup between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar has been announced, the pro-wrestling circuit is going ga-ga over it. This is a dream match for most of the fans inside or outside the WWE. Both of them are considered to be monstrous heel personas and this lineup has all the tools to become one of the most explosive matches that we have ever seen.
Also, this is a pretty unconventional match when it comes to the booking of WWE. Generally, we don’t see this type of a match where a heel is going up against another heel for the championship, especially when it comes to the PPV main event.
We might often see two of the babyfaces squaring off in the ring for a marquee match but this was pretty unthinkable until got confirmed. So, it has left the pro-wrestling fans stunned and anticipated, both at the same time. The stakes are already high for the high voltage matchup and Jim Ross took it even higher.
The veteran commentator recently posted on his blog stating that he intends to do commentary for this iconic clash if WWE contacts him for the same. The voice of JR has reached a legendary status with the amount of experience he has under his belt.
After staying away from the WWE for a long time, he was back in the company during this Wrestlemania season. He renewed his contract for the next two years where he will be available only to call up some marquee matches or in special WWE Network episodes.
Considering this might be a ‘once in a lifetime match’, WWE might consider bringing good old’ JR back to the commentary table. Check out the actual comments of Jim Ross, here:
“I say that the Lesnar-Joe match will receive plenty of talk/hype over the next several weeks and that the two, physically demanding athletes will provide us a tremendous one on one main event in Dallas.
I am personally looking forward to this match as much as any match I can recall this year and will tell you that it is an announcer’s dream to be privileged to call a bout like this. Yep, I’m fishing here.”
The match is set to take place at the Great Balls of Fire PPV on July 9th. It is going to be the main event of the Raw-exclusive PPV.
