WWE News: Jinder Mahal Challenged John Cena at Wrestlemania 34 1

Jinder Mahal was present in India to promote the upcoming WWE Live show.

The Raw-brand house show will take place in December at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Alongside all the regular names from the flagship show, the reigning WWE Champion will also perform during the event.

As declared by him, earlier, he is set to defend his championship against Kevin Owens on 8th December. It would be a special match since he would be competing in front of his homeland people.

Now, the modern-day Maharaja has been on a dominant championship run, as of late. He won the championship at the Backlash PPV in May. Since then, he had defeated marquee players from Smackdown brand to defend his title, successfully and became the longest reigning champion on the brand.

Going forward, he even looks forward to achieving some more goals in the company. That indeed involves a Wrestlemania main event and how better as an opponent than the franchise player of the company, John Cena?

In a recent session on Twitter, he asked the 16-time world champion to be his opponent at the biggest stage of them all in response to fan’s question. While getting asked about walking into Wrestlemania as the reigning champion, Jinder Mahal stated the following,

“I fully intend on being WWE Champion, come to Wrestlemania, and even after Wrestlemania. So, John Cena, this is an official challenge to you.”

Initially, there was a plan to witness feud between John Cena and the champ over the title on the blue brand of WWE. But, since the Cenation Leader shifted to Raw, we have seen an only one-off match between them before Summerslam 2017. The rivalry is worth a watch for the Indian fans.

Meanwhile, the Maharaja sounded quite exciting to perform in India. In his interview with TimesofIndia.com, he stated that the occasion cannot get any bigger than this,

“This is as big as it gets for me. These two events are the biggest matches thus far in my career, and I have had many huge moments. But this is the pinnacle for me. And this is all I have dreamed about since I was a child, as long as I can remember, growing up idolising guys like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Stone Cold; It is kind of weird that I see kids come up to me to take pictures with me now and I am to these kids what Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels was to me, and that is very special for me.”
