WWE News: John Cena Clears Retirement Rumours Following No Mercy
Sep 25, 2017 at 1:53 PM
John Cena suffered probably the biggest loss of his career at No Mercy. He was up against the new franchise player, Roman Reigns in a first-ever matchup. Since the 16-time world champion is a part-timer, right now, it was expected the Big Dog is the favourite one to come up victorious in the match.
That’s what happened, exactly during the match after Cena was unable to pin Reigns despite hitting his finishing move for four times. Reigns hit a spear through the commentary table and then followed it up with another spear to pick up the win. The crowd gave Cena a standing ovation while he left the ring.

It was an emotional scene around the entire arena that arose the question whether John Cena is retiring after this match. To address all the rumours going around him, he appeared on the Raw Talk show following the Raw-exclusive PPV. Renee Young and Jerry Lawler were the hosts of the show who shot out the question to the Cenation Leader.
The 16-time world champion started the show on a light note stating he was the last guest on the Talking Smack show before it got abruptly cancelled. So, he does not expect Raw Talk to suffer the same consequence after appearing on this talk show.

Cena admitted it was a hell of a match against Reigns where the latter one brought the best out of him. His dream in the WWE has always to be the best in the WWE or to be the vehicle to make someone to be the best. So, he might have helped Reigns in doing that not taking anything away from the Big Dog.
As for his retirement goes, John Cena said he’s doing this for 15 years and he hasn’t done. He does not know for how long he can keep up with the WWE, but as long as he is capable of doing it, he will continue. He also indicated that he might go on to a vacation by putting over Reigns with the following comments:
“It’s been a wonderful four weeks to watch Roman mature, and I was in there with him tonight. He’s a stud; he’s a Superstar.”
