In what could come as shocking news to the WWE Universe, John Cena is now out of the Royal Rumble match. Earlier today prior to the beginning of WWE Raw, we received the breaking news on the official website of the company. Also, WWE interviewer provided us with an exaggeration on this major issue as this huge match might not contain Super Cena.
Our previous report that already confirmed Cena’s absence from Royal Rumble
The injury was picked up during last week’s main event fatal-4-way match. John Cena was competing for the Universal Championship contender’s spot alongside three other names. Drew McIntyre was the one to lock in the Ankle Lock maneuver on Cena’s ankle leaving him in utter pain.
While releasing the clutch, the 16-time world champion might have tweaked his knee and thereby sustained the injury. Here’s more on this issue courtesy of WWE.com,
“The Cenation Leader faced Finn Bálor, Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre for the right to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the WWE Royal Rumble event. As seen in the video above, the injury seemingly occurred when McIntyre trapped Cena in the ankle lock submission hold. Cena can then be seen favoring his left ankle while leaving the ring after Raw went off the air.”
The video footage released by WWE showed that John Cena worked in a dark segment following last week’s WWE Raw. He delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Drew McIntyre even with that ruptured knee. Finn Balor put the Scottish Psychopath down with a Coup De Grace. Cena clearly could not put the entire body weight on that left leg.
Furthermore, the source also confirmed that John Cena might have been thought of healing up in a quick time. But he realized the injury was worse than thought after hitting the gym sessions. The ‘injury was exacerbated’ as per WWE.com while he was training his legs at the gym. Currently, his status is in jeopardy at the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match on this Sunday.
John Cena was a starry attraction for the 32nd Royal Rumble match. It takes place at the Chase Field Arena in Phoenix, Arizona where WWE can capacitate almost 40000 fans. But to sell the stadium out, they will need bigger star powers on the card. John Cena from WWE Raw could have served to that reason being the all-time great. But now his absence can make a negative impact on the ticket sales. We hope he can recuperate in time to work in the prestigious battle royal that paves the way to Wrestlemania 35.
