We reported it earlier that John Cena would be present in China for a live event. The entire WWE Raw roster headed to the eastern region for house show purposes. Ronda Rousey also made her debut in China on this tour.
All the regular names also performed on the show. It included The Shield who took on Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Braun Strowman.
John Cena was the unique attraction of the show who was also part of a tag team match. The franchise player of the WWE has a massive fan base in China. Whenever the company hosted a show, he has been a regular name on the card. His name helps to sell out the live events. The norm did not change even after a long time, as he found time to appear during his time away from the programming.
He competed in an entertaining six-man tag team match in the China Live Event. The full lineup was John Cena, Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley against Constable Corbin, Elias, and Jinder Mahal. As expected, the babyfaces picked up the win. None other than the Cenation Leader finished off the match in a unique style that set the fans abuzz.
Elias and John Cena were the two legal man during the end of the match. The legendary superstar hit the five knuckle shuffle and then followed it up with an Attitude Adjustment. Surprisingly, he came up with a Lightning Fist on the face of Elias that earned the pinfall win. Cena named the move as the 6th Move of Doom also known as The Doomiest.
It will be interesting to see whether John Cena continues to use this upon his return to WWE TV. He’s been teasing the 6th move of doom on the social media for quite sometimes. Previously, the reports suggested it might be the six-man tag team match that he was talking about. But now, it turned out to be a brand new finisher.
Later, John Cena also confirmed this move has a true foundation in Chinese culture. Here are his comments from an interview with WWE.com,
“Not only is this a new maneuver that has a true foundation in Chinese culture which I am very proud of because I’d love to pay respect to my experience here. But [the new move] is extremely powerful so I’m excited to debut something that I’ve learned here so maybe I can take a piece of my Chinese experience back to the ring.”
Currently, John Cena is in China expanding his movie career. He is shooting a new movie also featuring Jackie Chan. So it is not surprising to see him coming up with something special for the China fans. This live event was a one-off appearance for the Cenation Leader. There’s no update when he’d come back to WWE Raw.
