John Cena is absent from WWE programming for a long time. He appeared for one last time in a storyline angle with the Undertaker during Wrestlemania season. The Deadman handed him a squash loss to write off from TV for good. Afterward, he competed in two matches that were just fillers for bigger occasions.

Greatest Royal Rumble and Super-Show-Down were those two matches that happened in Saudi Arabia and Australia, respectively. These two were global PPV shows where WWE needed bigger names on the card to sell them out. Thereafter, John Cena was busy filming a new movie with Jackie Chan in China.

He has wrapped up the filming process of the movie and also the promotional activities for BumbleBee. So now it is time for John Cena to come back home i.e.in the WWE. We have reported it earlier that he will work in the Holiday Tour held by the WWE following December 25th. His comeback match will happen at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

The additional news is that John Cena will also appear in two WWE Raw episodes in due course. Speculations were running rampant about whether the Cenation Leader will be available for WWE TV in 2019. Although his return on the flagship show seemed evident, the confirmation was yet to receive. Finally, WWE made it official.

Currently, WWE Raw is advertising the 16-time world champion to be back onboard in the very first episode of 2019. As per the current schedule, he will follow it up with another appearance, at the very next week. the January 7 episode in Orlando, Florida and the January 14 episode in Memphis, Tennessee will witness his much-anticipated comeback.

Royal Rumble will be less than two weeks away from Cena’s currently advertised appearances. It suggests that WWE might just add him in more episodes of WWE Raw in due course. This will avail him for the first PPV event of 2019 set to happen on January 27th. This remains as pure speculation at this point.

Royal Rumble is one of the big four PPVs of the year which needs marquee stars to sell it out. This year the show will take place at the Chase Field Arena in Phoenix, Arizona that is more than a 60000-seater arena. Confirmation of John Cena’s availability on the show can give a boost to the ticket-selling. In that case, he might continue to work on TV through the Wrestlemania season.
