The days of Jon Jones living his dream reign as the UFC lightweight champion has been cut short. He failed the drug tests conducted for the UFC 214 PPV by USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency). Apparently, a banned substance was found in his sample which forced the officials to suspend him from competing in UFC for the upcoming one year.
With that being said, it is evident that he was stripped off his UFC Lightweight title that he earned on July 29th. On that night, ‘Bones’ rose to the occasion by defeating Daniel Cormier to win the title. His monumental win also gave him the audacity to call out Brock Lesnar for a fight inside the Octagon.
Numerous sources including TMZ and BleacherReport.com broke the news to the public that Jon Jones will not be seen in MMA fights from now onwards before the UFC officially announcing anything. Later, an announcement came from the company which stated:
“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Jon Jones of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an in-competition sample collected following his weigh-in on July 28, 2017.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Jones, as it relates to the UFC Anti-Doping Policy and future UFC participation.”

From Jon Jones camp, his manager opened up declaring that this is a devastating situation for them, right now. The statement is as follows:
“We are all at a complete loss for words right now. Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation. We are having the samples tested again to determine the validity or source of contamination. Jon is crushed by this news and we are doing whatever we can as a team, to support him.”
Despite this being an unprecedented news, for Jon Jones, the possibility of him competing inside a WWE ring just grew bigger. WWE does not come under these USADA rules since it’s a scripted show. At this time, Jones will not be available in Octagon fuels up the possibility of him joining the squared circle, for now.
WWE is still unturned with their Wrestlemania 34 main event that is supposed to feature Brock Lesnar going against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Apparently, that night will also mark the final night of the beast in the WWE.
So, the company would want to arrange this marquee match in a bigger PPV. Before to Wrestlemania, we will witness two more dual brand PPVs, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble. So, we will be looking forward whether any brewing for this cross-brand match gets built or not.
