The Mae Young Classic was indeed an impactful journey in the women’s pro-wrestling history. An all-women tournament in pro-wrestling was inconceivable. As many as 32 competitors around the globe fought hard to write their names in the history books by competing into it.
In the end, there were only two competitors left that locked horns inside the ring, yesterday. The finale of the Mae Young Classic took place on the WWE Network in a live edition. The show was taped once Smackdown Live went off the air.
The episode shaped up to be a grand one considering WWE always wanted this event to be a memorable occasion. The original planner of the show, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon were there on the episode to grace the show that took place at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ronda Rousey was also present to support her colleague from UFC who was one of the participants in the finale. Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane were the two final women left in the competition out of the 32 and stole the show in a 30-minute special episode on the WWE Network.

In the end, it Kairi Sane who turned out to be the victorious one after a hard fought contest. It was a thrilling back and forth contest between two of very best athletes. Especially, during the end of the match, the crowd was on their edge of the seat due to the fast pace of the contest.
It witnessed some submission moves from both Sane and Baszler. During the finish, the so-called David of the match stood tall over the Goliath. She hit an elbow drop off the top rope to earn a pinfall victory over the UFC fighter.
With this win, she became the winner of the inaugural edition of the Mae Young Classic. From now onwards, Sane will always be remembered as a special name in the history of women’s wrestling.
Triple H, Stephanie, and Sara Del Rey facilitated Sane for her accomplishment which will pave the way for many young female performers for years to come.
