Kane has been absent on the Smackdown brand for several months now. He took a hiatus for some personal reason and to nag some injuries that he picked up throughout his career. But, later he did not intend to stay from wrestling and let his intentions know to the WWE creative.
Knowing that the Big Red Machine has been one of those loyal persons to the company for over two decades, WWE allowed him to do so. Aftermath, Kane decided to pursue a political career. It is likely that he will bid to become the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. The official announcement is likely to come out within the next few days.
Hence, we can’t expect to see the veteran back in the ring, soon. There’s no update at all whether he will be given a proper farewell or not. Meanwhile, he opened up with the Undertaker retiring from the professional wrestling.
The Big Red Monster recently appeared in the Middle East Film & Comic Con to feature in an interview with The Gulf News. He was heard mourning over the retirement of his on-screen brother. This is what he offered while talking about the match between Roman Reigns and the Undertaker:
“(Smiling) Well, Undertaker can take care of himself! We all knew at some point that was inevitable, but nevertheless, it’s, sad because for me it’s like a chapter has closed, and I think a lot of WWE fans feel the same way.”
Kane also dropped a big hint while speaking of whether Taker will be back or not. In case you don’t know, he did have bigger creative control over the characters on Smackdown Live. This is what he teased about his return:
“That is, as we say in the States, TBD, to be determined. And I wouldn’t want to ruin any surprises if I did know…”
As we all know, Kane debuted in the WWE with the gimmick of Undertaker’s brother. The character was retained, going forward as continued to play the Devil’s favourite Demon, over the years. In the process, these two picked up several rivalries at different times. At one point, they have also become one of the most dangerous tag teams of all-time, as well with the name “The Brothers of Destruction”.
