We saw a shocking scene on WWE Raw, as Kevin Owens decided to quit. The flagship show took place from his home country of Canada. The crowd welcomed him with a loud ovation after he showed up accepting an Intercontinental challenge thrown by Seth Rollins.
This set up a solid championship matchup between these two veteran WWE Raw superstars.
Before the match, Kevin Owens promised to leave WWE Raw with the prestigious title in hand. He was almost there to pick up the victory hitting Frog-splash, Super-kick and even Stone Cold Stunners! But Seth Rollins kept coming back into this title match with kick-outs. In the end, the champion hit the Curb Stomp on the challenger to retain his title.
Kevin Owens could not believe the outcome and took the mic in hand after the match. He uttered ‘I Quit’ before leaving the building to stun the WWE Raw audience. We started wondering whether this meant a career-end for the former Universal Champion. This type of moment happened in the WWE previously putting an end to a superstar’s career. Batista was another example of it.
Thankfully, this might not be the case for Kevin Owens. Recent rumours suggest he will come back on WWE Raw sooner alongside Paul Heyman. Cagesideseats.com came up with the suggestion that the Prizefighter will return on the show in a special role. It looks like that the ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ will be there around his name when we see him next time around.
Paul Heyman and Kevin Owens will start a heel alliance to own WWE Raw, again. It could push the latter one to the main event level just like in 2016. Plus, it would also hand over the Human Walrus a new client while Brock Lesnar is away from the WWE. He is no more part of the WWE to renew his UFC career. So his advocate desperately needed someone by his side to keep his job on WWE Raw.
Kevin Owens is the best with the mic when it comes to cutting promos. But he has the x-factor missing in him ever since losing to Goldberg at Fastlane in 2017. WWE sent him back into the mid-card level since then. He could not come out of it to date. Getting help from Paul Heyman could work wonder for a heel superstar like him taking him back to the main event picture. So, we better get ready to embrace WWE Raw as the Kevin Owens show shortly.
