Sasha Banks and Bayley are in the middle of a feud on WWE Raw. They have ups and downs in their relationship in the recent past.
It was during the Wrestlemania season when we noticed the first crack in their friendship. The general thinking was that a solo match would be in-store between them at the biggest event of the year.
But the packed match card of Wrestlemania 34 would have made this contest, less significant. So it was a right decision to give a halt to the rivalry for that time span. But the cold war was always going on between Sasha Banks and Bayley. We have seen it throughout the past several weeks until it erupted on last week’s show.
Sasha Banks beat the hell out of Bayley in a backstage segment. If we’ve thought that Bayley has gone soft, then she proved us wrong. She returned the favour to The Boss on this week’s Raw. The Hugger delivered another beatdown to her former best-friend in the midst of cheers.
The point to be noted here is the crowd gave a hugely positive reaction to this segment. The WWE universe is finally backing up these two cornerstone superstars of WWE Raw. The dream rivalry on the main roster is also on the card, as Extreme Rules is coming up. The GM had arranged counselling session for them, next week which should be interesting.
We saw such sessions in 2012 for Team Hell No. They used to come up with hilarious segments between Daniel Bryan and Kane. Dr Shellby was a key entertaining part of these counselling sessions. It will be interesting to see whether he makes a return on WWE Raw next week. Fans will automatically be attentive to the Sasha Banks-Bayley rivalry in that case.
The initial belief was that only Bayley had to go to a counselling session. She was the one to pounce on Sasha Banks out of nowhere this week. But the GM informed the latter one too to join the upcoming sessions. We will see footages from it on next week’s episode of WWE Raw.
These will take us one step closer to the much-anticipated match between Banks and Bayley at Extreme Rules.
