Brock Lesnar returning to WWE Raw hyped-up the show more prominent than ever. It happened at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The reigning, defending champion had a history with this place.
Six years ago, he came back to the company at this same venue. Last night he returned to the same arena from an extended hiatus.
The crowd was not that much happy to see him on WWE Raw. His absence had already garnered much backlash amongst the fans. A part-timer champion was never best for the flagship show. So he did not get a thunderous reaction from the audience.
Adding Roman Reigns to the equation might have made things worse. Last week, he defeated Bobby Lashley on WWE Raw to become the number one contender for the Universal Championship. He fixed a date with the beast at Summerslam for the third time in this year.
We expected one big confrontation on the show between these two. It would have hyped things up for Summerslam title match. But it did not happen at all due to the unwillingness of Brock Lesnar to appear on the show.
Paul Heyman pleaded him throughout the night to go to the ring for at least once. But the champion did not listen to his words at all. Later, Kurt Angle reminded Heyman of the fact that contractual obligation demands Brock Lesnar to show up in front of the crowd. Otherwise, the GM would have no choice but to fire him from the roster.
The beast did not care to his advocate’s pledge at all. Instead, he turned on Heyman and warned him. The backstage segments went on till the end leaving Angle with no other choice. He called Heyman out into the ring and terminated his client’s contract. Moments later, Lesnar’s music hit the arena on WWE Raw.
He was furious than ever and attacked the general manager. He hit the F-5 on Angle to put him down. Thereafter, he grabbed Heyman by his throat but spared him before leaving the ring. Once the show taping was over, his rampage continued at backstage, too. Lesnar attacked interviewer Mike Rome to leave a preview of what’s coming at Summerslam.
