Rumors of Kurt Angle taking imminent retirement came true on last night’s WWE Raw. As we have reported earlier, the legendary wrestler is indeed heading to the sunset of his career. But the good news is that he will have one last match at the showcase of immortals. Wrestlemania 35 will mark the final time that we will see him competing in a wrestling match.
WWE Raw aired from Pittsburgh, last night that is the hometown of Kurt Angle. Speculations surrounded all over the internet suggesting that huge news is coming from the Olympic Gold Medalist. WWE hyped it up even bigger at the beginning of the show with an official announcement that the former GM indeed has something to offer to the fans. Well, he made it public prior to the main event segment of the show.
Kurt Angle informed us about having a farewell match at Wrestlemania 35. He did not confirm who’s going to be the opponent as it could be finalized in due course. As for the Pittsburgh edition of WWE Raw, he competed one last time in his hometown. Apollo Crews turned out to be his opponent who took the veteran to his limit.
The Hall of Famer downed the young superstars from WWE Raw with three of his pendant German Suplexes. Crews came back dodging an attempt of Angle Slam and hit a step-up Enziguiri. But the Angle Slam was awaiting next for him to decide his fate. The hometown hero ended the night with appreciation all around from the WWE Universe.
Later the night, Crews talked about getting to compete against Kurt Angle on WWE Raw. He revealed that a farewell tour is coming up for the Olympic Gold Medalist in which he was the first opponent in the line. We are yet to know who could show up to face him at Wrestlemania 35 as the veteran did not want to spill the bean yet.
