WWE News: Legendary Hurricane Intends to Return to the WWE
The fans of the WWE should be familiar with Hurricane. This man used to be a significant name back in the WCW. He did not adopt the hurricane persona in the company that was under Eric Bischoff. The original name of Shane Helms was still intact for him as part of a faction named 3 Count. But his character gradually changed once WCW became part of the WWE.
The Hurricane character became real to the fans in due course. The catchphrase of ‘stand back for a Hurricane may be coming soon’ got immensely popular raising his status to a whole new level among the fans. It also earned him a few championships on WWE TV programming.
A so-called superhero won the European Championship and the Hardcore Championships for one occasion. Later, he also held the tag team titles and the Cruiserweight titles on two occasions becoming a prominent name in the mid-card level of the WWE. Later he parted ways with the company to enjoy stints around the independent scene.
Now, Hurricane is looking forward to making a comeback to the WWE for one last time. He expressed his wish during an interview with the NoDQ.com. Talking about the return, he eyed the Cruiserweight division for sure. At this point, he can barely be a fit on the main roster. So, this division can use him in a good way to have a boost in ratings.
Check out his comments about a return,
“It would depend on the schedule for sure. If they could work with that, then I’m sure there’s stuff that we could talk about. Obviously, their 205 needs a boost. I could boost that for sure, but I could boost the main roster as well.”
In the end, the comeback depends on the WWE officials. If they intend to sign Hurricane back, then only he can end his career under the wings of the biggest pro-wrestling promotion in the world. Speaking about the same he mentioned the surprise show-up at Royal Rumble where the crowd gave him a huge pop,
“So if something happens with them… awesome. If it doesn’t, then that final appearance at the Rumble was so hot, the crowd popped so loud for me. If that was my last time there, then I’m actually super okay with that too.”
The crowd reactions gave him an overwhelming reaction. Following this, he even issued a challenge to John Cena who headed into Wrestlemania 34 without a confirmed opponent.
But obviously, the match did not happen, as The Undertaker resurfaced to dismantle Cena on that night.
