As reported earlier this week on WWE Raw, we have witnessed Alexa Bliss presenting us with a flashback segment from Bayley’s life named, “This is your life”.
Bayley’s ex-boyfriend, teacher, and a friend were present in the ring to embarrass her in the meanest way possible. The segment lasted long for 10 minutes and turned out to be a horrible one causing the audience pain in their heads.
This might have turned out to be a major reason why WWE Raw has seen the lowest ratings of this year despite this episode being the Memorial Day edition for this year. The segment was planned worst and even the best mic work from the women’s champion, Alexa Bliss could not save it from being a disaster.
The May 29th episode has witnessed 2.613 million viewers on an average basis. This is the breakdown from the total viewership from the episode:
Hour 1: 2.689 Million
Hour 2: 2.681 Million
Hour 3: 2.468 Million
As you can see, the hour three has witnessed the biggest dip in the ratings. The main event of Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns took place in the last hour but almost 200000 people did not see it. The reason behind this is said to be the “This is Your Life” segment between Alexa Bliss and Bayley which forced the viewers to shift to some other programming.
Also, the performance of the flagship show of the WWE is much worse considering that that May 29th episode was a holiday edition. The 2016 Memorial Day episode had drawn an average of 3.229 million viewers hinting a decrement of 616000.
The WWE creative was much offended with the outcome of the WWE Raw segment consisting of the two women. The backstage officials were furious once that was over, according to cagesideseats.com. They tried to reincarnate an ever popular segment from the Attitude Era but it turned out to be a horrible one.
The fans had expressed their disgust over it on the internet ever since that aired. This is the primary reason that WWE is trying to erase that one from the history books. In the video, on their Youtube channel, they did not upload the entire segment. Rather, only the physical encounter of Bayley and Bliss was uoploaded.
