WWE News: Major Title Change is Expected at Summerslam 1

The Raw tag team championship will be defended by Sheamus and Cesaro at the biggest event of the summer on this Sunday. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will team up together for a long time keeping aside their differences to earn yet another tag team title following their Shield days.

It was no secret that they were not on good terms for the past few weeks. Especially, Ambrose was not willing to bury the hatchet between the two, as he could not forget the fact that Rollins stabbed him in the back when the Shield split up in 2014. He was not willing to get betrayed by the Architect, once more.

However, Rollins did prove that he is a changed man right now and will stop at nothing to get back on board with his former Shield brethren. After saving Ambrose for a couple of times from the hands of the heel champions, they will finally get the opportunity to lock horns with them in a championship match at Summerslam.

Considering the names in this event, it has all the potentials to turn out to be the show-stealer of the night. Plus, the title might changes hands on that night making the Shield reunion look even bigger.

As per the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will become the new Raw tag team champion on August 20th by earning the victory over the reigning champions. It will mark a second tag title run by Rollins, whereas, the very first for Ambrose. It is the only prime title in the WWE that The Lunatic Fringe has not held, till date.

The source gave a reason for this title change. One-half of the current tag champs, Sheamus is going to shoot for the upcoming movie named The Buddy Games. The schedule has not been revealed, yet but it is likely that he might miss a month or so due to this shortly. So, there’s no way that the WWE officials will allow them to retain the titles at the event.

If Sheamus’ movie schedule gets delayed, then the title changing hand might be pushed a little bit. But, it is evident that the former Shield members will be the one to end the title run and then go forward to bring the prestige back in the tag title division.
