WWE News: Major Update On Brock Lesnar’s Upcoming Feuds On Raw
May 31, 2017 at 3:10 PM
Following Wrestlemania 33, Brock Lesnar went on an expected hiatus. He won the Universal Championship at the biggest stage of them all defeating the returning Goldberg. Since the beast works only a handful of dates in an entire year, it was already expected that the prime title will not be defended for quite a while following that event.
Now, before going into the hiatus, Brock Lesnar had a confrontation with Braun Strowman to give a hint that they are going to lock horns at one point. In fact, it was said at that point that they will collide for the championship at the Extreme Rules PPV.
However, the scenario changed abruptly following the Payback PPV where Strowman suffered an unexpected elbow injury and went into a sabbatical. This wiped out the chances of his match against Lesnar, for now.
Now, in order to crown a new challenger for Brock Lesnar, the creative has planned to square off five marquee superstars from Raw. The winner of that fatal-5-way match will be the one to challenge the beast at the next PPV, Great Balls of Fire in July.
However, it does not mean that the other ones will never get their opportunity. As per reports from cagesideseats.com, all the five competitors in that match will get an individual match against Brock Lesnar up to Wrestlemania 34.
In case you don’t know, this is the last year of his WWE contract which will be over at the night of Wrestlemania 34. He is not expected to resign once the night is over. Hence, WWE will make him performing for some more dates so that the fans could witness some of the dream matches.
They always wanted to see a Lesnar vs. Joe or Lesnar vs. Wyatt match and will get it as per the creative planning in this year or the next year. It also means that the beast might hold the championship for an entire year.
For now, it will be none other than Finn Balor who is the front-runner to win the fatal-5-way match at Extreme Rules and get the first shot at the championship. This is the reason why Paul Heyman has confronted him personally, this week. A Balor vs. Lesnar match is also a dream one for the pro-wrestling fans.
