WWE News: Major Update On The Opponent Of Brock Lesnar At Summerslam 1

Apparently, the WWE Universe is not much excited about Brock Lesnar being the reigning Universal champion in WWE. His limited working date is the supposed reason. He won the title from Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33. It was quite expected for two different reasons.

First, Goldberg’s contract with the WWE expired the night after Wrestlemania. So, the company would not allow him to go ahead with his championship reign for no reasons. Plus, this is the last year of Brock Lesnar’s contract in the WWE. So, Vince McMahon obviously wanted to hand him one last title run.

Now, it’s evident that the beast will not let the Universal title go before Summerslam, at least. There’s no one in the Raw roster worthy to let Brock Lesnar drop the title, at this point. Strowman is the only one who might get a big push ahead to get a title shot against Lesnar at Extreme Rules.

But, Strowman still does not possess what it takes to become a champion. So, there’s no way he can topple the beast from his title reign. We have to wait till the summer’s biggest event where a title change might take place. In that case, there are three opponents have in store in WWE Creative’s mind, as of now.

Inquistr.com reported Seth Rollins is an automatic choice for the beast incarnate. He has just slain the King of Kings at Wrestlemania and will be on a winning spree for the summer time. But, considering he already faced Lesnar in a title match, this feud might not get repeated.

The second option is Jeff Hardy upon whom the WWE creative is much high. The Hardy Boyz is not likely to stay as a tag team for a long time. They have been singles competitors in the company before and will be used on same roles. Jeff will receive the big push after the split from his brother happens. This might result in a main eventer run for him in the company.

The third and the most likely opponent is none other than Finn Balor. This man still owes a championship match. Even the fans always wanted to see a Lesnar vs. Balor match. The only problem with this one is Balor’s lack of momentum since return.

That too should be wiped out with an upcoming feud against Bray Wyatt. If Balor is pitted to come out as the winner of this demon vs. demon feud in this summer, then he is the most likeable option against Brock Lesnar who has the potential to end the title reign.
