WWE News: Major Update On Smackdown Live’s 1000th Episode 1

Tomorrow, we will have Monday Night Raw celebrating its 25th anniversary. It is going to be an extravaganza hosted by the company on with the entire Raw and Smackdown roster present on the show. Also, we expect to see the who’s who of the pro-wrestling circuit present on this occasion.

For the first time, the show will be co-hosted by two venues at the same time. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York is the original host to it. Plus, the Manhattan Center in Manhattan, New York was also announced to be a part of this celebration. This is an honour to the arena which hosted the first-ever episode of the longest running weekly episodic television show in the history.

But, it will not be the only time in 2018 that WWE will be hosting a big event like this. During the fall of the year, Smackdown will reach a milestone edition. In October, it will reach to its 1000th episode which is yet another accolade earned by Vince McMahon and Co. Quite expectedly; there should be yet another celebration just like they did while celebrating Raw’s 1000th episode in 2012.

Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter gave some update on the probable date of this monumental episode. According to the ongoing schedule of WWE, 18th October will be the historic day. Check out his quotes,
“Based on the schedule, it looks like the 1,000th episode of Smackdown would be on October 16, 2018. So they are likely to make that one a major show.”

The veteran wrestling journalist also noted that in just five days of the time of this edition there would be a Raw-exclusive PPV. So, it is highly likely that the creative team will also promote the event by inserting the Raw-feuds into the blue brand in one exceptional occasion,

“What’s notable is that’s five days before a Raw PPV, and if they are doing a show that’s expected to be big ratings, it would also be smart to promote the Raw feuds on it. So they’ll have both the Raw 25th anniversary and the Smackdown milestone show.”
