As we all know by now a terror attack took place at the Ariana Grand Concert in Manchester, England on this past Monday Night. A bomb exploded at the event which said to be killed 22 people and injured more than 120.
ISIS has taken the responsibility of the attack stating that a suicide bomber was sent to the venue to do the same. A 22-year old boy was given the duty to do the unfortunate incident and he was able to pull off the duties, successfully.
The incident shocked the world with people reacting all around the globe including the pro-wrestling industry, as well. Legends around the wrestling circuit offered their condolences to the victims of the bomb attack.
Now, WWE has previously scheduled a show in Manchester, England which set to take place on June 6th. It is supposed to be a WWE NXT live event. Following the attack, the event is in serious jeopardy.
As per latest update from TMZSports, WWE officials are contacting with the Law Enforcements in the United Kingdom to get to know whether they have to cancel the event, officially. The main reason that might force them to call off the event will be the strict protocols applied by the police department in Manchester.
The entire pro-wrestling industry reacted on this unfortunate incident, as stated earlier. The source also confirmed that an official from the WWE released the below statement mourning over the tragedy:
“WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to those affected by this tragedy. We are working with local authorities on the appropriate course of action as it relates to our event scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 at the Manchester Arena.”
WWE previously announced their one week long WWE tour for the first week of June around the cities of the United Kingdom including Manchester, Leeds, and Birmingham. We are yet to confirm whether the entire tour will be affected due to this attack.
The NXT live event is still very much intact until the company releases any official statement. The shows will feature superstars from NXT, Cruiserweight division and the competitors of the UK show. Names like Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Asuka, Neville, Jack Gallagher and Drew McIntyre have been already confirmed.
