The arrival of Mike and Maria Kanellis in the WWE was not something unpredictable. It was up on the rumour mill ever since the Wrestlemania 33 season that these two have been signed up by the company and will show up on anytime.
However, there was no proper storyline found for them which is why their debut on Smackdown Live was on the hold for quite a long time.
The much-anticipated moment finally arrived as part of the Money in the Bank PPV in June. They came at the blue brand to spread the ‘Power of Love’ to the WWE Universe. It was the chosen gimmick for Mike and Maria Kanellis so that they can spread their heel antics more on the shows and get a push as soon as possible.
However, in reality, it turned out to be something different. They were involved in a feud with Sami Zayn ever since the arrival which culminated a match at the Battleground PPV. While Mike got the victory in his first match on Smackdown, he was defeated by Zayn in the PPV bout coming up short in his first feud in the company.
Following this sudden loss in which he was considered to be the favourite one, cagesideseats.com reported the WWE Creative might not be favouring the Kanellis family, anymore. They have spent only a few weeks in the company, and the writers might have gone sour on both of them. It is the reason why Mike was booked to lose against Sami Zayn.
The pro-wrestling circuit started calling Mike, as the ‘jobber’ in the WWE. It was an effect from their previous stint from Impact Wrestling promotion where they failed to make any impact. Apparently, the bad luck continued in WWE. Also, Maria was sidelined due to maternal reasons, as Mike was taken off from WWE TV.
The social media targeted both of them on a regular basis over these things on a regular basis. Recently, Maria took her Facebook and Instagram account to give a suitable reply to the haters. She could not take any more of these savagery comments aimed at her husband by the fans.
#DivaLadyWifeMom #21weekspregnant “How dare you get pregnant? You can’t workout. And other stupid things people have said to me.” Swipe Right to See them yourself. I think it’s funny that everyone is an expert on pregnancy, including men that can’t birth them and don’t have children of their own. Now, I am not an expert on pregnancy but I do have my OB, PCP, mom, my friends with kids, and my trainer on speed dial. Let’s just analysis the first statement/question: “How dare you get pregnant?” I’m not exactly sure what this means but I can only assume it’s because I work for WWE. I signed a contract with WWE in March and had no plans of getting pregnant until my contract was up. So, yes I have only been signed for a few months this time but, I worked for WWE before. For 5 and a half years. I’ve also been working in wrestling for 13 years. AND I’ve been working since I was 12. I was a bus girl for my first job. Thus, I have been working for 23 years. I CAN get pregnant. I can even stay home while pregnant and have a job because WWE thinks I am important and this baby is important enough to do so. After 23 years of work, do I deserve maternity leave? I think so and so does WWE. Women deserve maternity leave and men deserve paternity leave. It should be a right not a privilege. I will continue fulfilling the obligations of my WWE contract even after the baby arrives so, SMGMB. (Suck My Giant Momma Boobs) Hahaha…… You can’t workout….. Really? Has anyone seen a lioness while pregnant? What if she decides, oh I can’t run today, I’m pregnant? The lioness starves and so does her cubs. Or what happened in colonial times when the men went off to war? Did the farm get neglected? No, she plowed the field and took care of her 7 other children. Women are amazing. Women’s bodies are amazing. I will not let people on social media make me feel powerless. Should some women not workout? Of course. But, I don’t have any special circumstances. And if I did then, I would “settle down” as one hater put it. Continue reading here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1701172509914348&id=116295058402109

The post slowed down the particulars, a bit which went on a rant about the couple. However, with no definite timetable reserved for their return, the trend might come back, sooner. Meanwhile, they are eagerly waiting to be blessed with a baby shortly.
