Matt Hardy is not present on WWE Raw for the past several months. We saw him last prior to Summerslam when he was in a tag team with Bray Wyatt. The ally of two bizarre personas was going well until the veteran superstars suffered injuries. The undisclosed concussions are likely to be battle wounds from his illustrious career. It is still not letting him come back to WWE programming.
Matt Hardy wants to become WWE Raw general manager
So the buzzes started speculating whether Matt Hardy will have to take retirement from in-ring competition. He also teased the same on social media handles on numerous occasions. But things might have been positive for his body, in recent times. While speaking to wrestlingINC.com, he revealed about multiple injuries that he is dealing with. It is taking longer timespan to heal. He will find a way to come back eventually when he is fully well.
But the leader of the Woken World did not confirm the exact schedule of his return,
“There is not a set timeline [for me returning]. Whenever I was “going home” there were some issues, some nagging injuries I was dealing with. I had to go home and do some rehabilitation. As far as a timetable of when I’m going to return, I don’t have an exact timetable but I would say sooner than later.”
There could be possibilities that Matt Hardy reforms the ally with Bray Wyatt after comeback. They were bitter rivalries earlier this year. This feud was evident to happen ever since Hardy returned to WWE. The Woken gimmick is a reincarnation of the bizarre characteristics of the Wyatt Family. So these two fought it out against each other to declare supremacy on WWE programming.
But the two of them did not have to fight it out for a long time. The WWE Creative team wanted them to make a team on the flagship show. So Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt started teaming up. Eventually, they ended up winning the tag team titles after Wrestlemania.
For now, Matt Hardy is looking forward to having a dream match before he retires. He visited India in recent times and spoke to MyKhel.com about it. Roman Reigns is the name whom he wants to lock horns with before hanging up his boots,
“I would say that one person that I would be dreaming before retirement because I haven’t got a chance to work with him. Now he’s gonna be gone for a little bit in future…it’ll be Roman Reigns. He is kind of a guy that WWE built around and I do I like him a lot as a person consider my friend. So I would love to have a Matt Hardy vs. Roman Reigns match before retirement.”
