Mick Foley has been very much regular on WWE Raw since he has been appointed as the general manager of the show. But, he is likely to take some time off from the WWE to address an injury he suffered during his in-ring career.
According to the report of Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mick Foley will not be seen in any of the WWE programmings for the rest of this year. He will be undergoing a hip surgery Following the surgery, he’ll have to undergo some rehab process which will prohibit him from appearing on Raw.
Asked WWE officials why they said Foley was taking time off, only for him to appear on Roadblock. This was their response. Very confused. pic.twitter.com/JM4qF4oexQ

He is scheduled to return on the 1st episode of Monday Night Raw in 2017 i.e. on January 2nd at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. During his absence, Stephanie McMahon will be the only authority figure running the show. Her presence on Raw will certainly be handy to make up for Foley’s absence since she’s been more active than Shane McMahon from Smackdown.
Ryan Satin of the pro-wrestling sheet said Foley was not even supposed to be present on Roadblock PPV. His presence on last week’s Raw was his last, as planned originally. But, he attended the show since he was present in Pittsburgh for some personal reasons and traveled with the roster for December 19 Raw, as well.
It was also suggested by the reports Foley will be spending time for Santa’s charity work in the Holiday season. He requested for the time-off since he wanted to spend sometime with his family, as well. He was also nominated as Santa’s ambassador, earlier this year.
WWE further clarified saying this short hiatus will purely be on the basis of the Holiday season and there’s no conflict between him and the company.
