This past week on Monday Night, we have witnessed the first-ever match between Kane and Finn Balor.
The Demon from the depths of hell returned to the WWE at the pre-TLC episode to hype-up the PPV by joining the opponent team of The Shield. However, his involvement converted into a heated segment with Braun Strowman.
Kane took him out at the PPV in a garbage truck and claimed to fill up his spot from this point onwards. As a result, he appeared on this past edition of Raw to take out Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles and then go on to demand more competitions from the Raw roster. Finn Balor turned out to be the one to accept the challenge.
It was quite an exciting match since the controller of the Demon King locked horns with the Big Red Machine inside the ring for the first time. However, the end was shocking, as Kane pulled off a dominant performance against a prime superstar on Raw like Balor.
He delivered not one but three chokeslams to his opponent to pick up a massive victory which raised questions to many of the fans as well as the wrestling pundits. Just one night ago, Finn Balor picked up a big win against AJ Styles in a dream match at the TLC PPV. It was one of the greatest matches of all time. So, what was the point of giving him such a big win if the creative planned to hand a big loss on the very next day?
I don’t understand the point of Finn beating AJ Styles at TLC only to lose the next night to Kane, who hasn’t wrestled a singles match in months. #RAW

I’m wondering if it’s because they believe Finn’s character has to be “The Demon” to beat a bigger opponent. If so, that’s silly.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Ryan Satin of Pro-wrestling Sheet questioned putting over Kane against Balor. The Monster does not need any push at this at this point in his career which is said to be over, almost. On the other hand, this loss would affect the status of the first-ever Universal Champion in the WWE.
The reason behind giving Kane this win is pretty obvious, as to start a feud against Braun Strowman so a match can culminate at Survivor Series PPV. It was the sole reason to bring him back to Raw, all of a sudden. Two of the behemoths are going to bring an utter chaos at the last dual brand PPV of the year.
