WWE News: New Favorite Emerged To Win The 2018 Royal Rumble

As per the earlier reports, Roman Reigns was the favourite one to win this year’s Royal Rumble event. It is quite certain that being the new franchise player of the company gives him the opportunity to compete in the main event of the Wrestlemania. The tradition has been continuing ever since 2015 after which he closed the show in consecutive three editions.

However, we should not forget that the previous franchise player is still on the board. Being the tested player that he is, the creative team might decide to go with him, as well when it comes to the main event scene. We are talking about none other John Cena who has been there in the company for the past 15 years and might compete in another championship match at this year’s ‘Mania.

The recently updated betting odds are showing that the Cenation Leader is the top favourite to win the 30 men battle royal and the face the reigning Universal Champion at the grandest stage of them all. Check out the current list of betting odds, (courtesy SportsKeeda.com)

John Cena had won the Royal Rumble match on two different occasions in his career, previously. His first win came in the year 2008 and the second one happened in 2013 where he competed in his final championship match at Wrestlemania. From then onwards, he has been in a role of a part-timer in the WWE.

If Cena is able to win another Rumble match then it will mark his third win by virtue of which he can touch the record set by the great, Stone Cold Steve Austin who holds the most number of Rumble wins in his career. It will mark a rematch between John Cena and Brock Lesnar for the Universal title at Wrestlemania 34 given that the latter one will still be the champion until then.
