WWE Raw might announce the first set of matches for Hell in a Cell in the upcoming episode. Smackdown announced the first matchup for the PPV event in the bygone episode. It would be a solid mixed tag team match. Daniel Bryan will team up against The Miz & Maryse with wife Brie Bella in her corner. Now it’s the turn for the flagship brand to confirm the main event from their side.
As per the current scenario, the Universal Championship match seems evident at Hell in a Cell. Brock Lesnar is not present in the scene and hence Roman Reigns will have to defend it against a new opponent. None other than Braun Strowman should be the one. These two renewed rivalries as WWE Raw went off the air in Brooklyn, New York.
The Shield was back onboard stopping Braun Strowman from cashing in the Money in the Bank contract. They also pounced on the monster delivering a three-on-one attack before finishing him with a powerbomb. He is definitely not happy how the night went by. So he threw a challenge to Roman Reigns for the upcoming edition of WWE Raw. It states as following,
“I don’t need to surprise you to cash in #MITB. I promised to do it face to face. Face me in the middle of your “yard” on #Raw, Roman. And if you’re really a man you’ll come alone. #MonsterInTheBank.”
It definitely hints the upcoming match between the two at Hell in a Cell. To assure things the host venue is now adverting Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman for the gimmick-based PPV. The AT&T Center has also revealed the WWE Raw women’s championship match lineup. Alexa Bliss will challenge Ronda Rousey in the rematch from Summerslam.
The Goddess does deserve a rematch over the title. Baron Corbin would hand it to her in the absence of Kurt Angle on the show. We expect that the acting GM would confirm these two matches for Hell in a Cell from WWE Raw.
Another old rivalry will continue at the Hell in a Cell PPV from the Smackdown Live brand. WWE.com has confirmed that Samoa Joe will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at the PPV event. Their Summerslam bout came to an abrupt end via disqualification. So, the contender is getting another chance to capture the title. Check out official updates regarding the match,
“After taking a disqualification loss in an out-of-control title bout at SummerSlam and being savagely assaulted by The Samoan Submission Machine two days later at SmackDown LIVE, WWE Champion AJ Styles will once again go to war against Samoa Joe at WWE Hell in a Cell on Sunday, Sept. 16.”
