Hell in a Cell Universal Championship match from WWE Raw ended in a disqualified manner. Roman Reigns took on against Braun Strowman inside the steel structure with the title hanging in the balance. Quite expectedly, chaos broke outside of the ring, as The Shield members, Ziggler and McIntyre ran down towards the ring. Ziggler and Rollins even fell off the cage.
But the biggest shocker came at the end of Hell in a Cell night. Brock Lesnar returned to the scene to wreck carnage inside the demonic cage. He hit both the opponents with the cage door and tables to make them unconscious. A new referee ran out to the ring to end the match without any outcome.
Brock Lesnar resurfacing at Hell in a Cell changed the complexion of the title picture, too. He did not get his contractual rematch at the bygone PPV. So he decided not to let anyone come out as the winner. The message was straight for the WWE Raw roster. If he can’t compete in a title match, he will not let anyone have an opportunity, too.
The question was who Roman Reigns will face next over the title. Last night’s WWE Raw kicked off addressing the same issue. The champion was unhappy about Brock Lesnar ruining the championship match out of nowhere. He is a fighting champion who would love to retain it via a clean win. But that did not turn out to be the case.
Braun Strowman looked even more frustrated, as he lost his MITB opportunity at Hell in a Cell. It was a golden chance to win the Universal Championship for the first time. So he demanded another chance to get his hands on the championship. Baron Corbin made a huge announcement to address the situation.
He announced a triple threat Universal Championship match at WWE Crown Jewel. Roman Reigns will have to defend against both Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. The newly added PPV event will take place on November 2 in Saudi Arabia. It is yet another change in the WWE PPV schedule. But the good thing is that we will have a prime championship match on the card. Brock Lesnar will also get his due rematch for the title.
It’s worth to note Roman Reigns also had to defend the Universal Championship against Baron Corbin last night on WWE Raw. He suffered massive ambush from Braun Strowman and co. before his Shield buddies came out to save his day. They took out the heel superstars paving the way for Roman Reigns to hit the spear on Baron Corbin to retain the championship.
