It is surely not good to see a talent like Sami Zayn, who is literally being wasted ever since being brought to the main roster. The former NXT champion was expected to involve in much better capacity than he is right now. Despite the fans chanting for this man, he is still not up for the push and the reason for the same is considered as some backstage heat that he is facing from the WWE creative.
The reason was stated by none other than the veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He suggested that the backstage officials are not happy with Sami Zayn. This was the reason why we saw him involving in a Shield-like segment with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, which made him look dumb.
The Canadian Superstar was involved in the main event scene on Monday Night Raw. He aligned with Reigns and Rollins to take on the team of Jeri-KO and Braun Strowman. Before that, he was seen making a plan with his partners when he wanted to reform the Shield and pose like the former Hounds of Justice.
Reigns and Rollins walked away and because of this, he got a negative reaction from the crowd. Meltzer said a babyface like him being used in such segments means that he is not in the good books of the WWE Creative. Meltzer further stated,
“So, the purpose of the segment was not to get anyone over or build the match. It was to establish Zayn as a total geek. Zayn does have the heat on him right now. They had him say some nonsensical stuff and Rollins and Reigns rolled their eyes at him, like, ‘who is this guy?’ Unlike Bayley later, where an idea that they thought would get her over fell flat, this was very much about getting Zayn under.”

The rumored reason for Zayn getting backstage heat is that his comments over a participant in the United Kingdom championship performing his blue thunder bomb move. He commented,
“Why imitate when you can create?”
his was not taken well by Triple H, for sure since the UK championship was his brainchild. We can only hope that the fun-loving superstar can come out of this bad phase, as soon as possible.
