WWE News: Original Planning With Dean Ambrose Before Injury 1

The Shield reunion was one of the most memorable incidents of the year 2017.

The fans wanted this to happen for the last three years. After a long wait, the three members finally got together recreating the most popular faction in the history of the company. However, this togetherness was short-lived owing to an injury.

Dean Ambrose was the one who suffered an elbow injury back in December that sidelined him from in-ring competition for several months. He was dealing with the injury for several weeks which was worsened by a mishit by his partner, Seth Rollins during a tag team contest on WWE Raw. He needed legit medical attention following this.

Going forward, the former WWE Champion needed to undergo a surgery that kept his Wrestlemania status in jeopardy. According to the official updates from the company, he will be missing shows up to nine months owing to this concussion that torn ligaments in his arm. WWE had big plans for him before him picking up the injury.

A recent report from Ringsidenews.com suggested the actual planning in-store for him before Dean Ambrose got injured. He was basically scheduled for a heel-turn before the Wrestlemania season. It would have been quite interesting since his in-ring persona matches to that of a villainous gimmick.

But, we have never seen him in that manner except for the initial days of the Shield in 2012 and 2013. Going forward, he was expected to involve in a championship picture. Check out the updates from SportsKeeda.com which gave further details of the heel-turn,

“Ambrose vs Reigns would have been the main program after Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34. It seems like we may be in for a heel turn from Seth Rollins instead if the rumours are to be believed.”

Since Ambrose became unavailable, Seth Rollins is most likely one to take the vacated spot. It is rumoured that none other than the Architect will be challenging Roman Reigns for the championship once Wrestlemania 34 passes by.

The initial seeds of the feud have already been planted with Reigns eliminating Rollins from the Royal Rumble match. Furthermore, Reigns was pinned clean by Rollins in the historical Gauntlet match on WWE Raw, prior to the Elimination Chamber. Meanwhile, the Lunatic Fringe is not said to be back until the biggest event of the year gets over.
