Smackdown GM Paige continues to come up with better ideas on a weekly basis. Last week, the blue brand was literally on fire delivering a solid episode. Paige promoted it to be a special edition from Brooklyn, New York. The crowd received an exciting treatment courtesy of the GM through this bygone. But the good times will continue as per the recent announcements from the social media.
Paige mentioned that the party never ends on Smackdown Live. So she did not make any delay to announce a tag team tournament to crown the new contenders for the tag team championships. The winners of this series will take on against the New Day in a title match at Hell in a Cell PPV which is less than three weeks away on the WWE Network.
Previously, The New Day won the Smackdown tag team championships on last week’s episode. It was in Brooklyn where the group won back the titles for the fifth time in their career. They delivered a hell of an entertainer against The Bludgeon Brothers in a no disqualification environment. Now they will find a new opponent against them at Hell in a Cell.
the party never stops for your #SDLive GM. The New Day had a big win on Tuesday, so let’s see who they’ll defend those #TagTeamTitles against at #HIAC. Triple threat match THIS Tuesday! pic.twitter.com/gyuvDmibKw

Six tag teams from Smackdown will compete to capture the contender’s spot. As per the announcement of Paige, there will be two triple threat matches on the show. The first match will take place on this week’s show whereas the second match is set for next week. Winners between these two tag matches will collide in one final showdown on September 11th show.
The Smackdown general manager also announced the first match’s lineup. The Bar vs. Luke Gallows/ Karl Anderson vs. The Colons (Primo and Epico) has set this lineup whereas the second match is still unknown. It’s worth to note that The Colons will be back on live TV as a tag team after a long time. They were out of the scene for almost one and a half year.
Previously, The Bar and The Good Brothers shared a backstage moment, last week indicating a contender’s match. It was going to be a two-on-two traditional tag team match to earn a championship opportunity. But the creative team has managed to come up with a better idea for Smackdown. A triple threat tag team bout has the potential to steal the show.
Meanwhile, tomorrow’s Smackdown also has some more ingredients to hype up the show. AJ Styles will try to give it back to Samoa Joe after having enough of physical and mental insults. Also, the Smackdown women’s championship will be on the line. Charlotte Flair will defend against Carmella in a title rematch with Becky Lynch lurking around the scene.
