With nothing really going on with him inside the squared-circle, the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus was busy doing his movie’s promotion for the last couple of months. It’s hard to believe that Sheamus was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion prior to Roman Reigns and was an integral part of building the Roman Empire.
He set up the group known as the League of Nations prior to Wrestlemania season which turned out to be an utter failure. Now the group has fallen apart and they had gone their separate ways. Meanwhile, Sheamus was making quite waves in Hollywood as the leading bad guy in the latest movie of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
In a recent live event from Huntington, West Virginia, Sheamus was featured in a United States championship match in which Rusev defended his belt against Kalisto, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn. The interesting part is that Sheamus was part of the match, too and worked as a babyface during the match.
As per the report from allwrestlingnew.com, the entire match saw him working as the face. Rusev won the match by submitting Kalisto into the Accolade. Now, considering that Sheamus’ run as a heel failed completely, it will make enough room for the WWE Creative to turn Sheamus into a permanent babyface. It is must mentioned that WWE examines its talents at the live events with their different avatar as these events not get televised.
It may work better for Sheamus if he acts as a face. Remember back in 2012 when he was the face he had quite a rivalry with Daniel Bryan and became the World heavyweight Champion in just 18 seconds at Wrestlemania. Now when Smackdown is going to be split from Raw, the blue brand will need more big names from the roster and who better than a veteran like Sheamus. The Irishman is a former 4-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion and surely has the potential to add more to the list.
