Brock Lesnar participated in the Universal Championship match at Crown Jewel PPV. It was initially going to be a triple threat contest also featuring Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. Later, Reigns had to take a hiatus due to starting treatment against Leukemia. So this match turned into a one-on-one bout at the Saudi Arabia event. The beast incarnate squashed the Monster among Men under five minutes to win the Universal Championship.
Must read about Brock Lesnar’s current WWE Deal
As a result, Brock Lesnar is sitting at the top of the WWE Raw roster, right now. Fans are definitely not happy with this as they know the prime title will not be available on WWE TV on a regular basis. It’s true considering that the champion will work only on some selected dates. However, the good news is that he agreed to do in multiple appearances in due course.
Lesnar vs. Cormier UFC fight set for 2019?
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is to set up a big angle featuring Brock Lesnar. The source did not specifically mention what it’s going to be. But it would include multiple superstars sans Braun Strowman. The idea is to protect the behemoth from the only two-time Universal Champion in the WWE.
As for as the loss at Crown Jewel goes, the idea was not to showcase the squash loss. But the WWE officials rather wanted to show how he has survived multiple F-5s before finally suffering the pinfall loss. Eventually, Brock Lesnar will get these hands at one point with the exact time being unknown. This ensures that the champion will work through the entire Wrestlemania season.
Here’s more on this scenario from WWE Worldwide 2.0 Facebook page,
“There’s no word yet on who they might have Lesnar feud with but it sounds like he won’t be wrestling Strowman at the biggest show of the year. Drew McIntyre has been planned for a run at the top in 2019, but WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins made mention of Lesnar in a recent promo, opening the door for a potential Lesnar vs. Rollins match.”

Reports also claim that UFC wants Brock Lesnar for March 2 show in Las Vegas, against UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier. This could mark the inevitable return to the Octagon for the beast incarnate only five weeks prior to Wrestlemania 35. But it depends whether he himself wants to be back in IFC. He has to keep himself fit for the biggest stage of them all, after all.
