A historic match is waiting for us on this Sunday night. The women superstars are continuing to break down the barriers as we head towards Wrestlemania 35. They will step into the Elimination Chamber to determine who will be the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This is a match that the WWE Universe was looking forward to, for a long time.
Six teams will compete in this match as confirmed on the WWE programming. Three of them will be from WWE Raw whereas Smackdown Live will provide the other three. Last year, women’s division of the WWE took the revolution one step forward by entering the Elimination Chamber.
This year, the stakes are already high as the inaugural women’s tag team championships will be on the line. The full lineup of the match will see Nia Jax & Tamina, Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose, The IIconics, Sasha Banks & Bayley, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan and Naomi & Carmella competing for the belts on this auspicious occasion.
A reliable source has now revealed what the future planning could be around the women’s tag team championships. WrestleVotes gave updates that this particular title will be available on both the WWE Raw and Smackdown roster. So just like the inaugural match itself, the women superstars from both the brands will be competing over it.
Here’s the full update from the source,
“The Women’s division roster is slowly going to be crossing over more between both shows. The plan is to have the Women’s Tag Team Champions appear on both brands initially, however, not on a weekly basis.”
This is a good thing as the female roster of WWE will get an added reason to compete for. The mid-card talents will receive an additional reason to elevate their level. So the addition of the women’s tag team championships was necessary. Also, the depth of the roster is not that much, right now to use separate titles on both the roster.
So this decision of involving both the brands is extremely right. For now, the anticipation is much bigger for the Elimination Chamber match. We can’t wait to see which team gets the honor of becoming the first-ever women’s tag team championships. Sasha Banks and Bayley are the current favorites if only The Boss gets cleared to compete.
