AJ Styles competed in Money in the Bank PPV event in a dream match the pro-wrestling fraternity was eagerly waiting for. In what was the best match of the night, he failed to dethrone reigning Universal Champion Seth Rollins from his position. But that does not take away anything from him who put up the fight of his life.
AJ Styles Taking Time-Off From WWE Raw
WWE To Use Wild Card Rule Both On TV & Live Events
Moving forward, AJ Styles will definitely move out from the Universal Championship picture as Brock Lesnar has arrived at the scene. The popular opinion is that the beast incarnate will cash-in his contract against The Architect in the Saudi Arabia show for the next title match. As for the former contender, he will have to move on in the next rivalry which WWE already teased on this past episode of Monday Night Raw.
The Phenomenal One did not appear in front of the audience on last week’s edition that took place in Albany, New York. He featured in an interview to opine on what the future holds for him. As per the statements, he will start from scratch and claw all the way to the top, once again. And he sure does not have shame for his failure against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank.
But Baron Corbin did not seem much impressed with those comments and grinned about AJ Styles squandering the given opportunity. He also pointed out the fact that he pinned Rollins two weeks ago and earned a title shot instead of Styles. The Phenomenal One reminded him of how many opportunities Corbin lost in his career that followed with a slap in reply to the insulting words.
With that being said, it’s almost certain that AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin is going to be the next big rivalry on WWE Raw. The question is whether WWE will book this match on the Saudi Arabia PPV event named Super ShowDown. They have already booked the top superstars in separate matches. Now it’s may be time to arrange a match for the former 2-time WWE Champion.
In case, this match does not take place at Super ShowDown then both AJ Styles and Baron Corbin will compete in the battle royal match. It is likely that the match will get postponed for the brand new Stomping Grounds show on June 23rd. As for Super ShowDown, it emanates from the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 7th.
