Jason Jordan was given a major push after coming to the Raw roster, last year.
He had great potential as a tag team superstar after debuting on Smackdown Live in 2016. At one point, he became the Smackdown tag team champion with his partner, Chad Gable. They were a popular team under the name of American Alpha.
Going forward, WWE Creative team thought of breaking this duo for good. Jordan was found with some unique talent who has a great potential to make it big at the singles division. Hence, he got shifted to the WWE Raw division. Plus, a huge angle was created for him which portrays him as the son of the general manager of the show.
It was a kayfabe planning to give a major boost to the career of Jason Jordan by attaching him to the Olympic Gold Medalist. The initial plan was to build natural bad blood between the two of them to set up a Wrestlemania matchup. However, the plan had to get scrapped due to a neck injury suffered by the young superstar.
This came at a bad time when Jason Jordan won the WWE Raw tag team championships alongside Seth Rollins. WWE tried a lot to make him available for the biggest event of the year. But, ultimately, he had to undergo surgery on the neck and be sidelined from the grandest stage of them all from New Orleans.
At this point, Jason Jordan has almost reached the level to get cleared by the doctors. According to a report by cagesideseats.com, he would be returning to in-ring action at the upcoming European Tour to be hosted in May.
Now the initial plan was to cement his spot on the flagship show roster with a rivalry against Kurt Angle. If the rumours are to be believed, then this angle would still be on. So, once his return is imminent, the earlier scrapped planning with his kayfabe father will still be hosted in a big way now that Wrestlemania is over.
The match lineups during this UK tour will clear the upcoming planning with the returnee.
As for now, WWE will be looking to host the UK tour, big-time. Both Raw and Smackdown superstars will participate in these upcoming events.
During this tour, shows will take place in countries like Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and the Netherlands. It is scheduled from May 10th to 20th, 2018.
