WWE News: Potential Plans Around John Cena Upon His Return

John Cena at present is out of the WWE for his Hollywood commitments. His movie, “The Wall” is set to release on May 12th and he’s on a promotion spree for the same. Once that is over, he is supposed to engage in some more filming processes for the upcoming summer.

During his absence, WWE is looking to establish Shinsuke Nakamura to take his spot. The former NXT champion is not going to feature in a singles contest, till date on WWE TV. But, he will make it up for the fans by wrestling in his debut match at Backlash PPV on May 21st.

In the meantime, there’s still no intact date of John Cena returning home, as of late. However, recent reports from Inquisitr.com suggested that he will be done with his film commitments by the end of June. So, it’s almost confirmed that he will return for the Money in the Bank PPV or once the event is done.

Since this year the exciting event will be hosted as a brand exclusive event, WWE is looking to indulge more big names into the ladder match in making it a successful one. So, it is being assumed that he will be one of the participants in that match. It is also being said that WWE would announce Cena’s return once backlash PPV is done.

He will continue working some more PPVs heading towards Summerslam. Once the biggest event of the summer is done, then he will go on for yet another hiatus from the company until this year’s end.

As for the programs for him are concerned, he is set on wrestle in some big time matches upon return. He will either feature in a championship storyline to break the record of Ric Flair or try to put over a younger talent.

Considering that he will go onto yet another time-off, it is likely that he should not be pitted in a championship match. Rather, a program against Baron Corbin is the most suitable one for him. It was earlier reported that the Lone Wolf is waiting for a big push in this summer. So, a feud against the franchise of the company would take him forward in the career.
