WWE News: Potential Update On Dolph Ziggler Leaving The United States Title 1

Dolph Ziggler was named as the third addition to the United States Championship match at Clash of Champions. A feud was ongoing between the then champion, Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode which is why a singles match was expected over the title. However, it was made a triple threat match and turned out to be a slobber-knocker match to open the evening.

To the shock of the world, the show-off picked up the win after a back and forth contest which was more than entertaining. This was supposed to be a new beginning for the new champion’s career. He desperately needed a dominant title run to save his WWE career. But, the very next episode of Smackdown Live witnessed something pretty unusual leading to the speculations of his retirement.

He left the ring after cutting heel promo in front of the live audience. Interestingly, he also left the United States title in the middle of the ring. These gave birth to the expected rumors of him leaving the company after news broke out that he might not be happy with his position.

However, PWInsider.com confirmed that this is a storyline angle in-store for Dolph Ziggler due to which he will be kept off Smackdown Live for a couple of weeks. He would return at one point demanding that he never lost the title. In the meantime, the former world champion will continue to perform at the live events.

There were speculations going on for quite sometimes that a newly designed US title might get resurfaced in the WWE. With Ziggler abandoning the title, it might be the time that we get to see a newly decorated title. In that case, the veteran superstars might return to WWE TV with the brand new championship in his hand.

However, the dawn of his career is closing by as alluded on Edge & Christian’s podcast indicating that he might not continue his career for a long time,

“I have a very short amount of time left to figure out if I want to do that again, or if there’s something to reach for. All I can reach for is having fun ass matches and tearing it down on the weekends because it doesn’t seem to be a specific great prize to be reaching for here that I can attain.”
