CM Punk is arguably one of the legendary superstars in the WWE who gets huge pop everytime his name is being mentioned on any occasion. In fact, it’s hard to find an arena where WWE events are being conducted and no CM Punk chant is going around. Whenever the fans find a WWE slot boring, they start to chant the name of former WWE Superstar in order to get some refreshment.
Now, the conflict between WWE and CM Punk has been ongoing for a long time now. Back in 2014, the company had filed a lawsuit against Punk which is till date ongoing in the court. Following the accusation, the former WWE Champion resigned from the company and decided not to come back here, anymore. Furthermore, he also took retirement from the pro-wrestling industry, as well.
However, we do know that the word “impossible” does not belong to the pro-wrestling industry. It goes with the “anything goes” motto. So, the fans always keep wondering of an inevitable return of CM Punk to the WWE ring, once more.
In this past edition of Monday Night Raw, a video from the WWE.com fuelled up the possibilities of the same, once again. Once the show went off the air, The Hardy Boyz was being interviewed by Charlie Caruso about their match on that night.
The Hardyz returned to Los Angeles, California as part of WWE programming after almost eight long years. They teamed up with Finn Balor to take on the team of Sheamus, Cesaro, and Elias Samson and came up victorious. So, the former tag champs expressed rejoice on the victory.
Specifically, Jeff Hardy recalled his main event from Summerslam 2009 against CM Punk. Eight years ago, on that night Punk walked out as the winner of that world heavyweight championship match. The notable thing here is that WWE has avoided mentioning CM Punk’s name on their programming as much as possible. In fact, this is the first time in quite a while that a superstar has taken the name of the Straight Edge Superstar in quite a while.
So, the IWC is speculating that WWE might have given the permission of using the name of Punk with a possible return on the horizon. However, it’s an out-and-out rumour, for now. If by any means, CM Punk does show up in the WWE, it might receive the biggest pop of the century, for sure.
