Randy Orton has had knee surgery in recent times. No sources confirmed that matter earlier than Backlash. There was not enough evidence available regarding his ongoing concussion.
He did not seem unhealthy either during his bygone matches. The last time, he competed in the competition was at the Backlash PPV event.
Going forward, The Viper did not appear in any of the episodes of Smackdown Live. Furthermore, he was off from the UK tour of the WWE, as well. It turned on the speculations about the potential reason behind his absence. Quite expectedly, the first reason mentioned was an injury. It is the most common thing after spending two decades in the pro-wrestling business.
Meanwhile, his wife, Kim Marie Kessler-Orton posted a video on her Instagram account. It showed her husband’s knee is heavily taped up. Days later, WWE.com came up with an officials update with his injury. According to the report, Randy Orton went under the knives to come over his knee injury.
Apparently, he had ‘to repair a medial meniscus tear in his left knee.’ Maybe, the WWE officials were well aware of this surgery. It is why they took off the United States title from him at this year’s Wrestlemania. After that, he failed to win it again at the Backlash PPV against Jeff Hardy.
As for his current status goes, WWE informed us that he is recovering from the knee surgery at home. Furthermore, the veteran superstar, “staying motivated to come back and dominate the blue brand.”
Apart from this, Randy Orton also informed us that he is holding off the knee surgery for a long time, now. Probably, he wanted to go through the Wrestlemania season, this year and then conduct the operation. This is what he stated,
“I’ve known I needed the surgery since late last year, but I’ve been waiting for the right time to get my knee cleaned out. Right now was the right time.”
It is worth to note that Randy Orton was never seen out of form despite this concussion. He needs a hats-off for being loyal to his employer even after spending a long time. He’s been through a lot of painful matches in his career and so working on a lighter schedule is best for his body.
For now, we wish the Apex Predator of the WWE, a healthy recovery in-time to work for Summerslam.
